Jeff Purtle is known for his teaching of Claude Gordon’s approach through clinics and private study, with students all over the USA and on all continents except Antarctica. Purtle’s work has been published in The Brass Herald, International Trumpet Guild, and cited as an authority in thesis papers on Claude Gordon and Herbert L. Clarke. Players of all levels study with Jeff to develop further as professionals and overcome challenges.

Purtle. Com has been on the ITG’s Top 25 Websites since 2004 and expanded to sell books and live streamed video of events. Jeff pioneered online teaching and gives presentations on the use of technology, which is used heavily at his conferences.

Purtle Brass Conference (PbC) is an annual summer event that attracts brass players worldwide to South Carolina. PbC is about developing technique and gaining business wisdom from guest artists with long successful careers, appealing to non-brass players and others. This, plus social time with the guest artists and great concerts make for three exciting and memorable days.

Jeff also studied six years with Charles Brady, who was principal trumpet with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, DC for six years, and recorded with Stravinsky and Bruno Walter.

Mr. Purtle is now the manager of Harry Kim, founder of the Vine Street Horns, for his clinics and speaking engagements.
